Time ticks
On and on and on
Why won’t it stop?
Why can’t it be quiet?
I need more time
Please let it slow
Just a few more hours
A few more minutes
A few more seconds
Please
Let me have more time
With Him

I’m not quite sure how to define my history as a writer. I’ve done lots of writing but I also haven’t done much of writing. I’ve written lots of poems, tried making a few stories (but never finished), I never showed them to anyone though, being insecure in my writing abilities. This semester has really thrown me out of my comfort zone and taught me so many new things along with creating a way for me to share my work without being afraid to. This semester has been a really great ride, rekindling my love for writing once again. My writing style seems to be a mix of happy and sad emotions. At the start of the semester it seemed to be more sad, the best thing I could write, but along the way my writing style and myself have changed and improved, becoming now a mix of happy things and sad things. I also seem to be very carefree and gentle in my writing if that makes sense.
This is a poem I had written during class when we were allowed to write any poems we like after we were done with another poem. I like doing a lot of freestyle poems, but structured, I’ve learned, is really fun too! I thought the sad but also romantic feel of the poem really reflected on myself and my writing style. How I interpret my poem is that someone is very close to a person romantically and they want to spend as much time with them as they can but with them time goes fast and they wish it could slow down so they can have as much time as possible before they have to leave. Yes, they’ll see them again, but it will feel like forever until then.

I love the melancholy vibe you create in everything you write. even the simplest of lines carries a beautiful sort of weight with your writing style. Keep up the good work.

I really like this poem I feel like a lot of people sometimes have trouble writing poems like this, but you did great.

I love the topic of time. I think that is a really interesting choice for a poem. All people can relate to it as never seeming to have enough time.
